A project developer prepares the project document applying approved baseline and monitoring methodology from entities like UNFCCC, voluntary standard etc using ACS standard format and guidelines. Project developer can also propose new methodology and baseline and can apply with the approval of ACS technical board.
Project developer can develop the project documents either self or with help of certified ACS consultants (obtain financial savings) or any non-certified consultants. Project developer can further process the project documents to validation with a 3rd party ACS auditing entity.
Validation is an independent audit conducted by the ACAE referring the guidelines of ACS and provides their registration recommendation.
Registration is a formal acceptance/prerequisite of the project to perceive towards verification. Once project recommendation is obtained by ACAE, ACS technical team will do the completeness check and review of the information. The project will be accepted and registered if no further clarifications persist. If the project fails to comply the requirements or does not provide proper justifiable evidence towards clarifications raised from ACS technical team, then the project will be rejected.

Project developer can develop the project monitoring documents either self or with help of certified ACS consultants (obtain financial savings) or any non-certified consultants. Project developer can further process the monitoring report to verification with a 3rd party ACS auditing entity.
Verification is an independent audit conducted by the ACAE referring the registered project, applied methodology and guidelines of ACS. ACAE will further process with certificate statement towards the actual GHG emission reduction achieved by the project activity to the respective monitoring period.
Issuance is a formal acceptance on ACU saved by the project activity for the particular duration. Once project certificate statement is obtained by ACAE, ACS technical team will do the completeness check and review of the information. The project will be accepted for ACU issuance if no further clarifications persist. If the project fails to comply the requirements or does not provide proper justifiable evidence towards clarifications raised from ACS technical team, then the project issuance will be rejected.
